As many of you may be aware, the BlackBerry z10 has arrived for purchase. You may also know that with the competition from Apple, Nokia and Samsung over the recent years, BlackBerry has entered a worrying time. We have already learnt from BlackBerry officials that annual revenues have not been satisfactory, however, that is likely to continue if you consider the rumoured iPhone 6 and Galaxy Samsung S4. The z10 follows suit to the modern smart phone making it BlackBerry’s all round touch screen. This makes it lighter than both the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820, however, it is far heavier than the paper weight effect of the iPhone 5.

Revamping the brand also meant changing the direction of its infrastructure, which is why the z10 uses the new BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system. The BlackBerry 10 focuses on the concept of touch screen. Although the brand has chosen to ignore it in the past, this approach seems to work. It is effortless to navigate and has proven to be such a user friendly device to both clients and staff. Most impressively, the OS can gage the writing style of the user much more frequently than competitors and helps with typing speed and word suggestion. This function has proven to be equally effective with the professional and social settings.

The z10 is fitted with a hotspot functionality that is capable is supporting up to 8 devices. This function provides the opportunity to share web connection and is commonly used to access the “BlackBerry World”. This is an online app for the BlackBerry OS. The app allows users to download your standard applications of media from the BlackBerry World Store. Fitted with an 8 megapixel camera on the back of the handset, the LED flash is able to record videos of 1080p. Furthermore, there is also a 2 megapixel camera that records at 720p.
